Founded by Jim Harps in 1985 and now run by his son Mark, J.D. HARPS, Inc. is a small, family-owned HVAC and major appliance repair company based in New Lenox, IL, serving the South Suburbs of Chicago for 41 years. We don't have salesmen, we have knowledgeable technicians. When you call, you get personalized attention from people you can trust in your home.
Our story
Jim started it. Mark runs it.
In the late '80s, Jim Harps was driving a service van just like this one, building J.D. Harps one job at a time. His son Mark grew up in it, riding along, learning the trade by watching.
41 years later, Mark runs the company his dad started. Same family name on the door. Same way of doing the work.
Meet the team

That's Eric (lead technician) on the left and Mark (the owner) on the right, outside our service van in New Lenox. When you call, this is who shows up. Not a sub-contractor. Not a call center.
The third on our crew is Ian, who works alongside Eric on every call. Three of us, all fully invested in the South Suburbs we live in.

What we do
One stop shop. Heating, cooling, and major appliances.
On the HVAC side, we install and repair complete heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, sump pumps, and hot water tanks. We stand by HEIL, a Carrier product known for reliability and backed by a 10-year warranty.
On the appliance side, we keep the rest of your home running: washers, dryers (plus dryer vent cleaning), refrigerators, ovens and ranges, dishwashers, microwave installs, and garbage disposals. If it plugs in and stopped working, give us a call.
We won't fold your laundry for you, but we will get your washer & dryer working properly.
